JB Tengco is the California Director for the BlueGreen Alliance. Previously, he has held senior positions in the clean energy, labor and political arena. He served as the director of government affairs and public relations for Westinghouse Solar as well as served as a consultant to a number of clean energy advocacy groups and companies ranging from start-ups to one of the largest solar companies in the world.
Prior to working in clean energy, he served in senior positions for John Kerry for President, the California Democratic party, the California Labor Federation and the Oakland Unified School District.
He has a Masters in public policy from Columbia University and a BA from UC Berkeley. He is an Americorp alumni and volunteers with the Red Cross when not hanging out with the his wife and two young boys.
Passed in 2006, AB 32, California’s landmark clean energy and climate law, is spurring investments in the clean energy economy and transforming our energy sector in ways that benefit Californians on many levels. It is driving job growth, reducing the carbon emissions causing our climate to change, and improving air quality in regions throughout our state.
