State Superintendent Candidates “Walk a Day in the Shoes” of Public School Employees
Tom Torlakson, Gloria Romero and Larry Aceves – all candidates for State Superintendent of Public Instruction – recently learned firsthand the challenges district employees face given the limited resources schools have due to recent budget cuts by spending the day working side by side with three LA Unified School District employees. This series of “Walk a Day in My Shoes” events is part of a larger program of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Any candidate wishing to be considered for endorsement by SEIU members must walk a day in our shoes.
