 California Labor Federation Appoints Mark Kyle Chief of Staff

Statement by California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Art Pulaski

 

OAKLAND – Labor Leader Art Pulaski today announced the appointment of Mark Kyle as Chief of Staff for the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO.

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Kyle as the Federation’s Chief of Staff,” said Pulaski. “Mark’s experience as a union organizer, attorney, negotiator and political operative combined with his management skills and knowledge of state government make him the perfect choice for this position.”

Kyle served as a consultant to the Federation for the successful “No on Proposition 75” campaign, directing field operations and providing strategic, tactical and legal planning for the statewide ballot initiative campaign.

“Mark’s political expertise and skills will be invaluable in helping the Federation tackle the challenges and opportunities of this year’s electoral campaign and the ongoing changes in the Labor Movement,” added Pulaski.

Mark Kyle has over 20 years experience with unions and non-profits. He was an organizer for the Communication Workers of America and the California Nurses Association, a staff attorney for the Hotel and Restaurant Employees and served in numerous positions with the Operating Engineers union, including Director of Operations, Political Organizer, Staff Counsel, and Contracts Manager. Kyle previously served as Undersecretary for the California Secretary of State and as Special Counsel to the Secretary of State.

Kyle holds a law degree from the University of California School of Law, Davis and a BA in Philosophy from Boston University. He lives in the Bay Area with his wife Mary and their two children.
