California's Union Members Take the Lead in Helping Those Affected by the Fires

Statement by California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Art Pulaski

“The California Labor Federation expresses its deepest condolences to those who have been affected by the southern California wild fires that devastated and displaced thousands of Californians, including many union members and their families.

“In the aftermath of this tragedy, we recognize and commend the union members who have selflessly contributed time and effort towards helping others: firefighters, emergency health care providers, laborers and building and construction workers, among others. Their hard work and dedication are essential to the recovery and reconstruction of those communities affected by the fires.

“Several unions and their members have mounted relief efforts to help those in need during this difficult time. If you wish to contribute to those union members in need, please contact the Labor Participation Office in San Diego at (619) 641-0074 or the United Labor Agency in Orange County at (714) 740-0928.”
