Historic Vote Puts Homeowners' Bill of Rights on Path to Become Law

“Today is a historic day for California’s working people and homeowners. Despite the power the big banks and their lobbyists wield in Sacramento, the Homeowners' Bill of Rights was voted out of conference committee and set on a clear path to become the law of California.

“With California still struggling from the devastating impact of the housing crisis, this legislation puts some power and control back into the hands of homeowners. In a time of deep budget cuts and ongoing recession, this victory restores hope that our state can rise above the politics of decline that’s eroding our middle class.

“The Legislature must pass this historic legislation without delay to provide immediate relief for homeowners all across California.”
