Statement by California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Art Pulaski on California May Day Actions

Today, hundreds of thousands of Californians are marching for justice in a massive display of solidarity with the immigrant workers who are vital to our state’s economy and communities. We’re sending a clear message to the Trump Administration and GOP Congress that attacks on immigrant communities won’t be tolerated in California.

May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, is a time to reflect on the good that comes from a diverse and vibrant workforce that strengthens our communities and is the backbone of America’s economy. Workers from all walks of life are standing together to collectively reject the cynical politics of scapegoating immigrants and separating families. Attacks on immigrant workers go against our very values as Californians.

The California Labor Movement is proud to celebrate all workers this May Day. We remain committed to resisting any attacks on working people each and every day until all workers receive the justice they deserve.
