This video of children singing Solidarity Forever will give you all the feels
Having a rough day? Need a pick me up? We got you covered. Last week , hundreds attended the dedication of the Itliong – Vera Cruz Middle School in Union City. The naming of the school after Larry Itliong and Philip Vera Cruz was historic: recognizing the role of these labor leaders in the 1965 Delano Grape Strike and Boycott and their organizing efforts in the Filipino community. The involvement of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), Alameda Labor Council and IBEW 9th District also helped with the New Haven Teachers Association’s decision to affiliate with the ALC. Building unity and solidarity.
If that gives you warm fuzzies, just wait for it. The school also involved students in the celebration. Students in the schools’ choir sang Solidarity Forever with a contemporary spin on the lyrics.
Enjoy and know that the world is going to be ok.
